Which medical professions are eligible to work in Sweden?

There are 22 medical titles that healthcare practitioners need to obtain a Medical License to Practice (Legitimation) in order to be allowed to work in Sweden. These professions are defined and secured by the Swedish National Board of Healthcare and Welfare of Sweden (Socialstyrelsen).
People who studied any of these titles but graduated from outside Sweden are still having a great chance of being permitted to practice their profession and ultimately work as licensed healthcare practitioners in Sweden.

Basically there are 5 steps for you who are holding a medical degree from outside European countries. The following qualification and stages must be accomplished before being able to apply for Swedish Legitimation (license to practice)

1- Swedish C1 Level

Swedish proficiency level of C1 is arguably the most essential and important part of your journey. This qualification is common and required for all types of applicants, both EU and non-EU. Some say, by mistake, that this stage must be accomplished after step 2, which is a big fault. As a matter of fact, you can provide this certificate anytime before applying for your Legitimation. 2- Medical education assessment
